Journaling Benefits You Need In Your Life Today

Journaling helps us explore concepts at a deeper level, sets our intentions for the day ahead and re-energize ourselves for the next day.

Four years ago, I stumbled on the Daily Greatness Journal series and fell in love right away. The journals are self-development tools that blend coaching and life planning into a gorgeous design for self-development. Daily Greatness journals were unlike other journals I had seen before because of their aesthetics and functionality. The concept so appealed to me that I went on to buy all the journals in the series. Today, I own most of the journals in the series: planner, wellness, business, parents, self-leadership, and training.

My Journaling Experience

Though I fell in love with the Daily Greatness concept a while back, I only recently started using the journals to the full. I was just too busy to pause, reflect and fill the pages of the journals in a meaningful way. Now, I have fully embraced journaling in all its forms, and the results have been spectacular.

In addition to my use of the Daily Greatness Journals, I signed up for Growth Day by Brendon Burchard to incorporate digital journaling into my daily schedule. Since then, I have experienced a clear improvement in my life, especially regarding gratitude and clarity of purpose. This 3 part series will explain in greater detail how the practice of journaling can improve the quality of your life.

Helps prioritize the more important things 

Write down the things you are thankful for on paper, acknowledge them, and prioritize them. That way, you get to give the more important things more energy in your life and keep them fresh.

The next time you feel stressed out, depressed, or find yourself in a funk, grab your journal and write down the things that fill you with gratitude. This simple act of writing will elevate your mood in no time and put a smile on your face. Filling your journal daily with positive thoughts, ideas, and reminders that work towards your goals is a powerful way to start living life from the optimal zone. 

Helps Improve focus 

Journaling allows us to explore concepts at a deeper level and stay on track towards achieving what we want in life. Writing things down in the morning or before you go to bed helps set your intentions for the day ahead or re-energize yourself for the next day.

Uncovers negative patterns

Journaling can help uncover certain habits that derail your goals. It is an essential exercise for those planning to make massive changes in their lives. It helps you identify everything you may need to get rid of or change to make way for the new or improved version of yourself.

Builds self-awareness

Journaling helps you understand the motives behind your actions or responses. It helps you identify all those things blocking you from achieving your goals. This process enables you to uncover the root cause and start working on the solution.

Improves clarity

Journaling at least once a day brings inner peace and clarity. It is the simplest way to get back in touch with yourself and restore balance in your life when everything seems out of whack. This simple act of putting pen to paper helps you think more clearly daily to focus all your thoughts on what’s essential in your life. When we write about our problems, we also tend to get a new perspective on the matter. We see things from a higher perspective and start to understand what’s going on. As a result of this clarity, we can find better solutions than before.

Externalizes your thought

Journaling helps bring your thoughts and feelings to the surface. Thus, you give them a better chance of being resolved. This way, there is no need for you to internalize or suppress negative thoughts to the detriment of your health.

Helps achieve balance

Writing in a journal is an excellent way to expand your consciousness. It helps you achieve balance and connect with yourself and the world around you better. So, when things derail, you will be able to adjust accordingly without breaking your stride.

Make Journaling A Daily Habit

Remember that the thoughts you have today will shape your future. Please make sure they are thoughts that work towards your goals and not against them. Please, write down all the things you want in life and make it a habit to surround yourself with these thoughts each day so that they start materializing for you.

Personally, journaling has helped me narrow down my purpose in life and create a compelling vision for the future. Furthermore, it has helped me take giant strides toward my dreams by setting exciting goals and working toward those goals. I have learned to acknowledge and replace self-limiting habits with empowering ones. Journaling has helped me focus on the positive, recognize my strengths and overcome my weaknesses, challenge my fears and be happier.

Life is a gift and living it to the fullest is the best way to show appreciation for such a beautiful gift. Journaling can be of great help to you on this journey. So, take the time to write about your goals in life, where you want to go, what you want to achieve, and who you want to become. It might just make all the difference in how quickly you get there.
